Chairman: Derek Luscombe
Also sits on The Cornwall Association of Local Councils.

I joined the Council very many years ago - sometime in the '60s! Since joining, I have been fortunate to have been chairman for a number of years.

Over time, I have seen many changes in the parish and fervently hope that parishioners think we have made a positive contribution to parish life.

Clerk: Di Willett

I have been Clerk to Colan Parish Council for about 18 months.  The job is a combination of Secretary and Treasurer which involves minute taking, correspondence, general admin duties and finance. As Clerk I am the first point of contact for any incoming letters, notices and planning applications which are discussed at our monthly meetings.

Vice Chairman: Kathy Waters

I have served on the council for about 6 years.

My aim was to give something back to the village after being very happy here. I try to help the Parish by getting things done. I like living here and am trying to do the best things for the good of all, which sometimes can be difficult with Cornish beurocracy.

Councillor: Jane Combes

I recently retired, well almost, and was able to join Colan Council. Needed some interest to keep the brainworking and hope to help the village life. My interests are in planning, footpaths and bridleways, riding, gardening, opera and family. I have lived in and around Newquay for very many years so am familiar with most things which are of local concern.

Councillor: Patrick Lambshead

I was elected Councellor in 2003 and since, I have been listening to electors problems and concerns and helping them. I want to bring more varied and better paid employment choices, e.g. the local business park & Aero Hub. I believe in helping local young people stay in the locality and increasing community activitiy e.g. subsidised Christmas Lunch for senior citizens and Community events.

Councillor: Maurice O'Gara

Maurice has lived in Colan Parish for a long time. He was stationed at St Mawgan in the RAF and found his way 'home' eventually - he is still an active member of the Royal Airforce Association. He was co-opted onto the council in 2013.

He is a keen Amateur Radio enthusiast and enjoys National Trust Membership with his wife who also contributes to our local community activities.

Councillor: Brian Killingbeck
